The practice of Tai-Chi or "soft internal martial art" concerntrates on the body's internal energy.
Tai-Chi is primarily based on the practice of forms - a series of self defence movements - such as punches, kicks, and palm strikes that are practiced one after the other in a pre-arranges flowing way.
Although every movement has a self-defence application, the forms are more than just a martial art; they are a healing art in that they teach ways of developing better physical, mental and emotional balance and stability.
At the Ballarat Martial Arts Centre we practice a variety of forms from different styles of Tai-Chi, which include empty-hand, sword and fan.
